Topcon and Halltech Partner to Provide GIS Mapping Solutions in Canada

Livermore, Calif. – March 18, 2009 – Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) has formed a new partnership with Halltech Corporation to distribute and support Topcon mapping and GIS products in Canada.

Halltech Corporation, located in Guelph, Ontario, specializes in providing GPS solutions for GIS mapping in the fields of environmental and agricultural research, natural resource management, mineral exploration and military applications.

The company has recently added Topcon GIS solutions to its product offering and plans to provide this equipment to their current high-end customer base that requires a high degree of accuracy and rugged functionality in the field.

The company will begin introducing Topcon products to their customers in provincial and federal government, municipalities, educational institutions, private companies and multinationals.

Murray Hall, president of Halltech Corporation said, “We made the decision to work with Topcon because of their recent advancements in rugged handheld mapping technology and their commitment to dealer support. Our clients work in very hostile GPS environments in every remote corner of the planet. Topcon’s GIS solutions are the only handhelds to offer dual- constellation satellite tracking.

“With the recent announcement of an additional three GLONASS satellites, the constellation is nearing full operational status. Our users will now be able to work in places that were impossible in the past.”

Halltech plans to demonstrate Topcon’s capabilities in side-by-side comparison trials with products currently in the market.  “Our valued clients have always trusted Halltech to be on the leading edge of GPS technology and partnering with Topcon confirms our commitment to continue to do exactly that,” Hall said.  Halltech will be offering Topcon products through their expanding dealer chain throughout Canada to achieve maximum exposure.

Dave Henderson, national sales manager for TPS said, “We are pleased to have a distributor located in this area of Canada with such a high level of technical expertise and customer satisfaction as Halltech has demonstrated for more than 20 years. We have strong confidence that our products will be well supported by Murray and his team and we are looking forward to helping Halltech make their customers successful and productive using our GIS field solutions.”
