Topcon’s Dominick Auletto Announces Retirement

Livermore, Calif. – November 6, 2008 – Dominick Auletto, vice president of Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) and a survey industry leader for almost three decades, has announced his retirement. He will continue to work part-time for Topcon until the end of the year to assist the company during the transition stage.

Auletto held many positions with TPS in more than 28 years with the company. He was one of the first employees when Topcon Corporation established its U.S. office in New Jersey.

Well-known and respected by Topcon dealers throughout the country, Auletto is one of a handful of Topcon executives who dealers readily identify with the long-term growth and family image of the company.

Ray O’Connor, TPS president and chief executive officer, said, "For many years Dom has been the face of Topcon for our dealers and many of our customers. In fact, Dom is in many ways the reason Topcon has enjoyed so many long term, stable relationships with our dealers. He recruited many of them and the trust he earned in them for Topcon continues to be a foundation to our mutual success.

“His personality, advice and hard work have been an immeasurable part of our company’s growth. The company will not be the same without him."

Mark Contino, vice president of TPS survey/GPS sales, said, “As a true icon in the surveying and GPS products industry, Dominick Auletto is someone whose contributions will not soon be forgotten. Whether from a colleague or competitor, Dom is known and respected across the industry.”

Auletto said his professional experience with Topcon has been extremely gratifying. “Topcon’s position today worldwide is greater than I ever envisioned. In the early years we were confined to a very specific market with very little staff. Today we are so diversified and I am very proud of those who worked so hard to create the environment for change so we are now recognized as the world leader in positioning products.”

Auletto has been closely aligned with the TPS dealer network for many years. He said, “Our dealers are the major reason for Topcon’s overall success. In addition to conducting business, we actually had fun building both our businesses. Our business relationships were always more about friendship.” He said his relationship with the people at TPS and “our outstanding dealers made my job very enjoyable."
