KS Employees Help Build Habitat for Humanity Home

September 10, 2008 – On Wednesday, September 10, KS Associates employees were given an opportunity to participate in the Lorain County Habitat for Humanity program, helping to construct a new home for a family in need. An 11-person KS crew spent the day installing vinyl siding and insulation for the house, located on Pleasant Street in Oberlin, Ohio. KS Associates also donated surveying services for the project.

The keys to the new home will be turned over to a couple with two little girls, both under the age of two years. Construction is on schedule and the home is expected to be ready for occupancy in time for the upcoming holiday season.

According to Erv Mrosek, Habitat for Humanity project manager, “The new homeowners are very appreciative of the time that KS Associates donated. The home is located within walking distance to schools and a park, and will help improve the quality of life for the family.”

The day of volunteering is part of KS Associates’ Community Link Program designed to support local charitable organizations and encourage employees to become involved in philanthropic activities. This is just one of several events in which KS employees have participated to help the community in which they live and work.
