Livermore, CA — John Beaver, who joined Topcon in 2005, has been promoted to vice president of quality assurance and service. Prior to his promotion he had served as director of operations/quality.
The announcement was made by Mick Yamazaki, Topcon Positioning Systems executive vice president.
Yamazaki said Beaver’s promotion was for “the incredible work he has done in practically every area in the company dealing with quality assurance and service. John has truly changed the way the company operated in these two key areas.”
Some of Beavers’ accomplishments include the development and launch of the Topcon Regional Repair Center program in the United States and the establishment of an East Coast distribution center for repair parts to expedite delivery.
In addition to maintaining existing programs, Beaver will be charged with integrating worldwide customer service, quality and technical support teams, and automating customer service functions.
Prior to joining Topcon, in addition to other positions held in the service and quality control areas, Beaver spent more than five years with Spectra Physics Construction Systems as quality manager.
