San Jose and Moscow – February 4, 2008 – Javad GNSS announced today its new line of products, along with an innovative web-based ordering system that provides multiple discounts based on the options chosen by the customer. The new products include:

Triumph Chip
At the heart of our TRIUMPH Technology is our TRIUMPH Chip. In a 17×17 millimeter power-efficient 352-TFBGA chip we have packed impressive amount of state-of-the-art functions using 0.09 micron (90 nm) integrated circuit technology.

The TRIUMPH Chip has 216 (two hundred and sixteen) channels for tracking all types of GNSS signals. These 216 channels are grouped in three categories of channels, some with 5 and some with 10 correlators, optimized to track all types of GNSS signals.

The TRIUMPH Chip can track all existing satellite signals as well as all those planned for the future. This includes all GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, WAAS, EGNOS, and Compass/Beidou signals.

In addition, the 216 channels open doors for special tracking features. Even for the simple case of GPS L1, for example, 20 channels can be assigned to track one GPS L1 satellite; each channel one chip apart. All channels start full 20-bit signal integration but the channel with the correct bit set will acquire the satellite. Using this technique we can track satellites under very low signal conditions.

Additionally these 216 channels are accompanied by the equivalent of 110,000 regular correlators for fast acquisition even when signal strength is very low.

Each channel is optimized to measure the most precise code, carrier and Doppler from each satellite system. The most advanced multipath reduction is also implemented for each channel. Each channel has 3-bit RF input and a tracking resolutions of 5 mm for code measurements and 0.005 mm for phase measurements.

The TRIUMPH Chip also includes a very powerful microprocessor including a 220 MHz CPU with Floating Point Unit (FPU), 4 MB internal RAM for on-chip data processing which reduces power consumption and cost.

Harmonics of transmitters like TV and radio stations may fall within the GPS band and block the reception. To defend against such in-band interferences TRIUMPH Chip has five sophisticated 64-th order adaptive anti jamming filters, in five different signal bands, capable of suppressing multiple interferences by up to 60 dB.

Decoding the bit streams of GPS L5, Galileo, WAAS, EGNOS, and similar systems, which use Viterbi decoding schemes, are very computationally intensive. To facilitate this task we have implemented Viterbi decoder and cyclical redundancy check (CRC) module in the TRIUMPH Chip hardware. The implemented Viterbi decoder has 3-bit soft decision, decoding depth of 64 and capable of decoding frames of up to 512 bit with a decoding speed of 1 Mb/sec. It can support both stream and block modes. The CRC module has a polynomial length of up to 32.

TRIUMPH Chip also includes 40 flexible programmed RF input pins, three 1-PPS timing signal outputs, three Event inputs, and two embedded PLL-s.

The sophisticated power management implemented on the 90 nm technology reduces the power consumption of the chip to the range of 0.2 to 1 Watt depending on the modules activated.

Our TRIUMPH Chip not only offers impressive and unparalleled performance, it also provides for substantial reduction in manufacturing cost. It enables us to reduce the size and power consumption and offer products at lower cost. This is not a price war, it’s a technology war, which we are back to fight for you!

Triumph-4X
Conventional RTK uses one base and one rover yielding only one baseline with no checks and balances. Surveyors appreciate the power of networks, where many points and repeated measurements along with network adjustment remove outliers and give more accurate results.

To improve the reliability of RTK, some users employ data from more than one base. Multiple bases are rare and not conveniently available.

In a giant step forward along with introducing TRIUMPH-4X, we also introduce Cluster RTK, or 4×4 RTK, where sixteen baselines are processed in every single RTK measurement.

For the first time in the history of GNSS, the power of survey techniques and network adjustments comes to RTK but without the burdens and complications. The operation is similar to conventional RTK. Surveyors and geodesists can now trust RTK measurements while improving accuracy, reliability and availability.

Now when we say 20 Hz RTK, we mean measuring 16 baselines of 8 points and performing equivalent of geodetic network adjustment on 16 baselines, removing outliers and providing reliable geodetic quality RTK solutions 20 times per second!

4×4 cluster RTK does not need a truck load of expensive equipment, multiple field operators, and complicated procedures. It is even simpler than conventional 1×1 RTK because you even do not need to level your pole!

A note about the Javad GNSS pricing policy
Our pricing policy has several elements:
• The first element is related to our Triumph Technology. We have developed the most advanced GNSS technology and integrated it in the most advanced and efficient microelectronic integrated circuit. This has resulted in the highest performance and the lowest cost. I will divulge the secret that our Triumph Chip costs us less than $20.
• The second element is to offer the lowest prices but leave enough margins for ourselves and our dealers.
• The third element is that many hardware options are already in the boards that we manufacture. T
he more options you select, the more profits we make.
• The fourth element is that we want to completely eliminate the “price negotiation” process when different options and volumes are purchased, thereby automating and standardizing our pricing

So, putting all elements together, for each product we have a “base price” for which we offer no discount. When you keep adding options, we increase the discount level until it quickly reaches 75% (you pay only 25% of the base price!). This is in addition to significantly lowering our base and standard list prices.

By not wasting time on price negotiations, our dealers will have more time to support you better.

Please see our website for more details.

Flexible Bundling!
Do we bundle products and options and offer package prices? Yes, but in an innovative way.

The benefit of bundling is that you get lower prices when several options are packaged together. The drawback of bundling is that you may not need all the options which come in a package. Wouldn’t it be nice if the options bundled in a package were exactly those that you need?

In our flexible bundling, we let you select the options that you want and as you increase your options we increase the discounts. The discount level quickly reaches the 75% level and you get bundle prices no matter which options you select. In this way you customize your own bundle package and never pay for an option that you do not need.

And to help you with the selection process we have provided templates, for example, a “complete RTK system”. When you click on this package it is only a typing aid. You can modify the template and options as you like.

Test this system in our Online Order system. We will start accepting orders in March 2008.

Why do we offer Galileo free for one year?

We have several motivations for doing so:
• First, we want to demonstrate to the Galileo authorities that the user community is already prepared for Galileo and encourage them to expedite the development and deployment of the system.
• Second, we want to encourage the Galileo authorities to share detailed technical information with us more quickly and in more detail so we can help to test the system with the many customers who will receive the Galileo option free of charge from us.
• Third, we also want to expand the system test. Galileo is in its infancy and more tests will help us to ensure our systems are fully debugged when Galileo becomes operational. We will issue free firmware upgrades as Galileo system develops.
• Fourth, we want to demonstarte by our actions and not just by our words, and to prove to our customers that we are the technology leader and that they can rely on our products for years to come. Our users will not need to exchange their receivers when Galileo becomes available. They can buy the Galileo option when they observe the advantages of Galileo. We supported GLONASS the same way 15 years ago by introducing the Cinderella option. For Galileo our Cinderella is full time for one year, instead of one day every two weeks!

We all understand that research institutes and Galileo organizations will benefit most from this offer, but our customers will also benefit by having peace of mind that the receiver that they are purchasing today is Galileo-enabled and that we will improve performance by only implementing software upgrades.

We may extend the free Galileo option beyond one year if Galileo development falls behind and customers need further time to decide on the benefits of Galileo.

Last, but not least, we hope to also benefit financially later on when Galileo becomes operational and our customers—who have tested the system—chose to purchase this option.
