Leica Geosystems ‘Smart’ System 1200 Shines at LA Annual Convention
(Norcross, Ga., June 4, 2007) – Robotic and GPS technologies and techniques took center stage at the Louisiana State Professional Surveyors (LSPS) 2007 Annual Convention from April 18-21, 2007 in Baton Rouge. More than 270 surveyors, mapping experts and other industry professionals at the Convention had the opportunity to evaluate the most advanced products and services from Leica Geosystems.
Attendees showed particular interest in the Leica System 1200 series of products, which includes the Leica SmartStation. The SmartStation is a high performance total station with a powerful GNSS/GPS integrated receiver. This highly mobile and powerful system is ideal for surveyors interested in connecting to various RTK networks.
Donald Biggs, Louisiana Direct Sales Representative for Leica Geosystems, said, "There is no other system on the market that allows a surveyor to perform conventional total station work and collect GPS static data at the same time. The SmartStation has no problem connecting to (various) RTK networks. With this technology, surveyors have a tremendous opportunity to get jobs done with increased speed and greater accuracy."
