Leica Geosystems Introduces Leica GMX901 High Precision Single Frequency GPS Antenna

Unit has Integrated Smart Antenna for Affordable, Monitoring Alternative

(Norcross, Ga., 30 May 2007) – Ideally suited for precision geodetic monitoring of sensitive structures, the new Leica GMX901 GPS receiver with an integrated antenna delivers an unbeatable combination of simplicity and durability with low power consumption. The GMX901 streams precise single frequency code and phase data up to 1 Hz, providing the basis for highly accurate position determination and deformation analysis.

The receiver is housed in a robust water, heat, cold and vibration resistant unit that is easily mounted on a range of structures including mines, slopes, bridges, dams and buildings. The system connects seamlessly to the Leica Geosystems’ Spider Network, an advanced GPS processing software for coordinate calculation and raw data storage. In addition, the GMX901 seamlessly integrates with Leica GeoMoS monitoring software to provide integration with other sensors or analyze structural movements and calculate limit checks. Surveyors can also integrate third party analysis software via the standard National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) protocol.

Gerard Manley, Vice President of Engineering for Leica Geosystems, says, “ The GMX901 provides customers with an affordable and reliable GPS monitoring solution.”  The evolution of the GMX901 was completely driven by customer requests from around the world.
