RETTEW Strengthens Leadership in Survey Operations

Lancaster, Pa. – RETTEW, a full-service engineering, planning and environmental consulting firm, recently strengthened its leadership in survey operations in New York and southeastern Pa. as a result of promoting and hiring key staff.        

“RETTEW chose three individuals to serve as group managers in southeastern Pennsylvania and in New York because of their familiarity with the region and surveying expertise,” said Mark Lauriello, PE, president of RETTEW. “This knowledge, combined with their leadership abilities, will ensure that RETTEW continues to deliver exceptional surveying services to a growing client base.” Lauriello added that RETTEW has more than 50 surveying employees, providing clients with one of the largest surveying corps in the Northeast. Last fiscal year the firm’s surveying revenues totaled nearly $7 million.

Carroll
RETTEW recently hired Joel R. Carroll, PLS, as group manager to oversee survey operations in the firm’s Chester Springs, Pa., office, which RETTEW opened in 2005 after acquiring Beideman Associates Inc., a surveying and land development firm established in Chester County in 1984. From the Chester Springs office, Carroll is responsible for fostering client relationships, proposal writing, budgeting and staffing, quality control, and project management for surveying services throughout southeastern Pa. A graduate of Colby College in Waterville, Maine, Carroll has more than 20 years of experience in geodetic, boundary and topographic surveying. He specializes in surveys for residential subdivisions and lot surveys for private properties, as well as land development and site plans for horse farm stables, barns, and facilities expansions. He is also experienced in conducting hazardous waste surveys for Superfund sites throughout the Northeast. A resident of Chester Springs, Pa., Carroll is a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors.

Perry
RETTEW recently promoted Diane M. Perry, PLS, to group manager overseeing survey operations in the firm’s office in Liberty, N.Y., which opened in 2005 and recently expanded its operations to accommodate the rapid growth occurring in Sullivan County. In her new role, Perry is responsible for managing the workflow between RETTEW’s survey field staff and office personnel to ensure maximum quality and efficiency for boundary and construction surveys. She also works closely with clients to ensure project satisfaction. Perry has more than 10 years of experience as a professional licensed surveyor in New York. Prior to joining RETTEW in 2003, she served as sole proprietor of DP Environmental Services, in Cranberry Lake, N.Y., providing surveying services to St. Lawrence, Franklin, and Clinton Counties within New York’s Adirondack region. Perry has an associate’s degree in forest technology from State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and a bachelor’s degree in forest management from Humboldt State University, Arcata, Calif. Perry resides in Liberty, N.Y., and is a member of Toastmasters International.

Rich
RETTEW recently promoted John W. Rich, PLS, to group manager overseeing survey operations in the firm’s office located in Margaretville, N.Y. Rich’s responsibilities include maintaining client relationships; managing, mentoring and coaching RETTEW’s junior survey staff in the Margaretville office; and conducting survey research and analysis. A professional licensed surveyor in New York, Rich has been with RETTEW since 1997 and has more than 25 years of experience ranging from boundary surveys to construction layout for wastewater treatment plants and resort communities. A resident of Hobart, N.Y., he has an associate’s degree in forestry from Paul Smith’s College and is a member of the New York State Association of Professional Land Surveyors.
