Maney Publishing is pleased to announce it is taking on the publication of Survey Review from the Commonwealth Association for Surveying and Land Economy (CASLE).
The journal was first published in 1931 as a result of a resolution of the First Commonwealth Survey Officers Conference in 1928, and has enjoyed continuous quarterly publication since then. Bringing together research, theory, practice and management in land and engineering surveying, the peer-reviewed papers come from government, private industry and academic organizations worldwide. The journal’s scope includes global positioning systems, geodesy, geomatics, GIS, mapping and land management and cadastre.
The journal’s Editor, J R Smith, said: “Survey Review has a strong history founded on the early Survey Officers Conferences and has since become a truly international journal at the forefront of developments in surveying. With our commitment to online publishing and new partnership with Maney, we look forward to reaching a wider audience and continuing to prosper in 2007.”
The latest issue, which comes out in January, features articles such as ‘The impact of land market processes on the poor in rural Vietnam’ and ‘Determination of Northeast Asia’s highest peak (Mt Jade) by direct levelling’, and will be available online for the first time.
Maney Publishing’s Managing Director, Michael Gallico, said: “Survey Review is an excellent addition for Maney as it is hugely respected in its field. We look forward to working with Jim Smith to continue its development as a leading research tool in surveying.” The journal will complement Maney’s existing title The Cartographic Journal, published on behalf of the British Cartographic Society, and will be added to its MORE (Maney Online Research E-journals) collection.
