Red Hen Systems Announces New e-Commerce Site

The first product offered on the site is the DX-GPS, a device that links a Nikon digital SLR camera and a Garmin Geko GPS unit

Fort Collins, Colo., Oct. 17, 2006 – Red Hen Systems announces its new e-commerce site, https://ecommerce.redhensystems.com. The secure site brings the convenience of online ordering to customers and accepts payment by credit card—American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover.

The first product offered on the site is the DX-GPS, a device that links a Nikon digital SLR camera and a Garmin Geko GPS unit. The DX-GPS mounts the GPS unit in the camera flash shoe, where it is in full view of GPS satellites and therefore delivers maximum location accuracy. Using this convenient hands-free device results in latitude and longitude being written to the EXIF header record of each photo at the time of collection. Included with the hardware is a software utility for Google Earth, IsWhere, that enables buyers to plot the GPS-tagged images on a map.

The DX-GPS accessory is available in two models, one for the Nikon D2Xs, D2X, D2H and D200 cameras, and the other for the Nikon D1X and D1H cameras. The DX-GPS works with the Garmin Geko 201 and 301 GPS units. Either model of the accessory is priced at US$395 without the GPS unit or US$615 with the Garmin Geko 301.

“Our new e-commerce site means customers can place orders any day of the week at whatever hour is convenient for them, anywhere in the world,”
said Paul McCrosson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We plan to add additional products to our internet store regularly, as Red Hen continues to develop tools that make the task of linking pictures and places easier and easier.”

Red Hen Systems welcomes phone orders from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Mountain Time. For more information about DX-GPS and other products that create Red Hen Photos, visit www.redhensystems.com.
