ArWest selected for Tactical Meteorological Equipment radio upgrade by Raytheon

ArWest Communications Corporation, an emerging company in the field of Narrow Band Radios, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC to provide VHF and UHF radios for an upgrade of the US Air Force Tactical Meteorological Equipment (TACMET).  The award involves the delivery of 80 radios by October 2006. Since its inception, ArWest has been working alongside many leading manufacturers to provide them with OEM products or to integrate ArWest products into their systems. “We believe that this is just the first of many blue-chip companies who will work right alongside ArWest,” said Barrie Hogarth, ArWest VP Sales and Marketing. The selection of ArWest radio modems follows some six months of testing and evaluation by Raytheon.

State-of-the-Art Narrow Band radio modems
ArWest Communications Corporation (ArWest™), of Campbell California, is a privately held telecommunications company founded in 2003 by CEO Thomas Chanian and CTO Gagik Harutyunyan.

ArWest designers have applied advanced technology components and implemented the most unique, cost effective and expandable DSP based narrow-band software intensive (“Soft”) radio modem. The distinctive Plug-and-Play design provides self tuning and calibration, maximum performance, unmatched long distance coverage and robust enough to withstand the harshest environmental and other adverse conditions. The ArWest radio modem provides a high-speed Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint wireless data transfer at up to 38.4 kbps. AWare software supports user selectable modulation techniques (DBPSK, DQPSK, 8DPSK, or 16QAM), which allows the user to achieve the highest data speed for a given range (up to 50 miles). It also includes a selectable forward error correction, which improves the functioning of the radio modem under interference, multipath and other intense environmental conditions. The unmatched features of ArWest include data scrambling, frequency hopping, user selectable transmit output power level, low power consumption sleep modes, auto-scanning for base and plug-and-play installation for remote terminals.

The ArWest AlphaWave family products are manufactured based on their reliability, security, manageability, scalability and future expandability without any hardware change. The AlphaWave can be installed practically anywhere in the world—with the lowest possible cost of ownership.

ArWest is actively seeking Distributors who can take the AW products to the Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) market.
