Jacksonville, FL — August 21, 2006 — Clary & Associates Professional Surveyors and Mappers is pleased to announce Andreas Gedenk as this year’s recipient of its survey technician internship.
A Surveying Engineering student at the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, Germany, Gedenk elected to complete the required internship for his current course of study at a surveying and mapping company abroad. For the next six months, Gedenk’s duties at Clary & Associates will include research for map preparation; production of boundary and topographic surveys using the latest computer-aided drafting technologies, and much more.
“Andreas is a very talented individual with a lot of practical surveying experience,” said Greg Clary, founder and president of Clary & Associates, Inc. “We are tremendously pleased with his effort to gain additional professional experience on an international level, and we are honored that he applied for an internship with our company. We expect it to be a mutually beneficial experience, and we look forward to supplementing his coursework with working knowledge of a variety of cutting-edge technological applications and equipment.”
For the past four years, Gedenk has been working as a fieldwork troop leader for Ingenieurvermessung Gedenk, a Germany-based company specializing in surveying, town planning and mapping. His duties include: railroad and bridge surveying, providing ground plans, taking measurements of industrial buildings, and performing measurements in Scandinavia. He also is experienced in a variety of software applications, including: Geograf/AutoCAD, Zeis-Edit, Card1, Leica Total Stations, Global Positioning System (GPS), MS Office, MS Windows and the Internet.
Gedenk’s previous work experience includes positions as a surveyor’s assistant and as a provider of ambulance service for indigent persons. His formal studies include Business Administration and Economics at the University of Potsdam in Germany.
Gedenk also is a volunteer member of the German Red Cross and speaks German, English and Russian. In his spare time, he enjoys playing volleyball, reading and economics.
