Tripod Data Systems to Distribute Three New Nikon Total Stations

DTM-652, NPL-632 Feature CompactFlash Slot, USB Port to Simplify Data Transfers
NPL-522 Adds Reflectorless Capabilities to Popular 502 Series

Corvallis, Ore.—June 19, 2006—Tripod Data Systems™ (TDS) today announced it will distribute the newly introduced Nikon 602 Series total stations. The company will also distribute a reflectorless total station added to the 502 Series. TDS is the United States’ sole survey distributor of Nikon total stations, which it sells through an extensive dealer network.

Both 602 Series models, the DTM-652 and NPL-632, feature a CompactFlash (CF) slot and a USB port, making it fast and easy for surveyors to transfer field data to their office computers.

“People appreciate the convenience of portable data using CF cards and USB memory sticks, and surveyors are no exception,” said Daryl Stewart, TDS marketing manager for survey products. “With the new 602 Series, surveyors get additional storage in the field, and it’s easy for them to transfer large data files from their total stations to their office PCs.”

The high-accuracy model DTM-652 is one of the fastest total stations in its class, and it offers 1” angle and 2+2 ppm distance measurement capabilities. The NPL-632 features 2” accuracy and reflectorless operation with 3+2 ppm distance measurement accuracy.

The NPL-522 adds prismless operation to the 502 Series. It features 3” accuracy and reflectorless operation with 3+2 ppm distance measurement accuracy.

As with all Nikon survey products, the DTM-652, NPL-632 and NPL-522 include Nikon’s world-renowned optics, which deliver brighter images even in low-visibility conditions. Their all-weather construction and long-life batteries allow surveyors to work all day in any weather conditions. Complete specifications are available at .

“The 602 Series and the NPL-522 are in the same price class as the models they replace while offering more capabilities,” Stewart said. “Surveyors who are looking for a mid-range prism or reflectorless total station will find these new Nikon models very appealing.”
