Norwood, MA AND Bloomfield, CT – June 12, 2006 – GZA GeoEnvironmental Inc., one of the area’s leading environmental and geotechnical consulting firms, has announced that Environmental Risk Limited (ERL) of Bloomfield, CT has joined the company and expanded GZA’s capabilities in Connecticut.
ERL is a company of 33 employees with approximately $4.0 million in revenues for 2005. Under the agreement the current ERL employees will become GZA employees and all activities going forward will be conducted as GZA. The combination of GZA and ERL will offer expanded professional services and technical specialties and will create one of the largest and most respected environmental consulting entities in Connecticut. The combined Hartford regional office will be housed at 120 Mountain Avenue in Bloomfield, CT. ERL’s founding owners of Gordon Brookman, P.E., L.S.P, L.E.P, David Brandwein, Esq., C.P.E.A., and Mitchell Wurmbrand, C.C.M. will join GZA as Principals and will continue to serve their traditional clients. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1985, ERL offers expertise across the spectrum of environmental services including air quality; multi-media environmental permitting, compliance auditing, and compliance management; environmental meteorology; expert testimony, litigation, and public hearing support; site assessment, investigation, and remediation; environmental due diligence; siting studies and environmental impact statements; environmental claims review; water, wastewater, and hazardous waste issues; and an aquatic toxicity laboratory. Key markets include manufacturing and industry, law firms, schools and universities, hospitals and healthcare facilities, insurance companies, electric generating facilities, telecommunications, financial and development services, and water/wastewater utilities.
