Trimble Equips Second Polish Government Agency with GPS Technology

Sunnyvale, Calif., May 4, 2006 — Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today that it has supplied 271 GeoXT™ rugged GPS handheld receivers, part of the GeoExplorer® series, to Poland’s Plant Health and Seed Inspection Services (PHSIS), a national government agency. This purchase follows an earlier sale of 156 GeoExplorer units to Poland’s agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture in early 2005.

Headquartered in Warsaw, Poland, with 16 regional offices, PHSIS is responsible for monitoring plant health and production in order to facilitate the movement of Polish goods of plant origin between member states of the European Union. The agency uses the Trimble GeoXT handheld receivers to conduct field inspections of registered producers’ crops. The inspection enables the agency to issue a “plant passport” to accompany the producer’s exported goods. Each GeoXT handheld receiver is equipped with the Polish version of Trimble’s TerraSync™ field software, while the collected field data is processed back in the office with Trimble GPS Pathfinder® Office software.

The GeoXT combines submeter GPS technology with a rugged handheld computer running Microsoft® Windows Mobile® software. The GeoXT receiver allows users to collect location and attribute data and keep existing Geographic Information System (GIS) information up to date. The GPS receiver, antenna and all-day battery are all built into the handheld computer to provide an integrated, cable-free solution.

Shipments of the 271 GeoXT receivers and related software were completed in December of 2005.
