Partnership Delivers Advanced Environmental Management System with Geospatial Link
Orlando, Florida – Environmental permit management bottlenecks can be eliminated with GPMACS powered by Enviance.
The alliance partner agreement between PBS&J, a leader in regulatory compliance management, and Enviance, a leading provider of Internet-based on-demand systems for the management of environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance activities, has brought together two complementary solutions, each designed to streamline environmental permit and compliance management for a range of applications. Together these solutions deliver a single Internet-ready, geographically-driven environmental permit management system that allows public and private organizations to gather, track, and distribute permit-related information with ease and control.
As one of the first geospatially-enabled, web-based permit compliance management systems, PBS&J’s Geographic Permit Management and Compliance System (GPMACS) has helped clients centralize permits into one manageable and accessible system. The system combines a relational database and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for permit compliance activities and regulatory planning. Users track all permit requirements and conditions, identify project site encumbrances that warrant special consideration, and access data for issue resolution and reports.
A wide range of organizations from large land developments clients to municipal government agencies rely on GPMACS to better manage permitting submittal, review, and approval processes in a map-driven framework.
GPMACS powered by Enviance will continue to support clients with the same depth of experience in compliance management, but will now be fully integrated with and supported by Enviance’s secure enterprisewide framework to streamline and automate all environmental permitting activities for compliance assurance from data gathering through permit approval. An important benefit of the Enviance framework is that it is delivered as a service over the Internet and requires no internal IT support or infrastructure.
“The union of these two advanced solutions will strengthen and enhance our regulatory management services and provide a robust platform for our clients to streamline compliance activities and reduce operating costs,” says Donna Huey, PBS&J vice president. “The Internet-ready Enviance software expands the power of the GPMACS solution, bringing its organizational power to public and private organizations seeking to get out from under the permitting log jam.”
Len Berg, Enviance executive vice president, Alliances adds, “Adding spatially-based permit and regulatory capabilities to permit management will revolutionize the process. Together, Enviance and GPMACS will offer a realistic solution to organizations struggling with decreasing budgets and tighter regulatory requirements, particularly in water/wastewater, land development and municipal government.”
Enviance is actively used in a number of industries, including the chemical, oil, gas, energy, and manufacturing fields where environmental stewardship reporting activities are significant. PBS&J is looking forward to expanding this solution into other areas of municipal government such as watershed management and land development to assist with increasing EPA-driven regulatory management requirements in the water industry among others.
