Optech announces new 24/7 Optech Services

Toronto, January 19, 2006– Optech Incorporated, the global leader in manufacturing and support of advanced laser-based survey instruments, is pleased to announce the formation of Optech Services which will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to all Optech’s Terrestrial Survey Division clientele.

In a continuing effort to improve customer satisfaction and to reinforce Optech’s commitment to the lidar industry, Optech’s Customer Support department is now being reorganized into Optech Services. As part of this change, effective immediately, all ALTM customers will now have continuous access to a team of professional Optech Service Representatives.

“We continue to challenge paradigms and improve processes in order to better serve our Customers,” says Jake Jenkins, Terrestrial Survey Division Director. “With such a significant portion of worldwide users owning or operating Optech ALTMs, it is imperative that we provide a structure that will support those users when they have questions or issues. While other manufacturers cannot or will not support their users in a similar fashion, we feel that it goes without question that all manufacturers stand behind and support their products around the clock – not just when it’s convenient to the manufacturer. We are committed to working as partners in success with all our ALTM customers. The institution of 24/7 support continues to improve upon that partnership. ”

Optech’s ALTM sets the global standard for airborne laser terrain mapping with data acquisition rates of up to 100,000 pulses per second and innovative options such as Enhanced Accuracy (EA), intensity, full waveform digitization, simultaneous first/last pulse measurement, roll compensation, and digital camera integration. With more systems in operation worldwide than any other airborne laser mapping instrument, ALTM is the solution of choice where fast, detailed and accurate topographic elevation data are needed.
