Clary & Associates Walk for Heart Health

Clary & Associates Professional Surveyors and Mappers Raises Funds for 13th Annual First Coast Heart Walk

Jacksonville, FL — October 15, 2005 — Clary & Associates Professional Surveyors and Mappers took to the streets at 8 a.m. on Saturday, September 17th to raise funds and participate in the 13th Annual First Coast Heart Walk. The company team, along with family and friends, gathered together at downtown Jacksonville’s Metropolitan Park to participate in the American Heart Association’s signature fund-raising event.

Having exceeded their team goal of $2,500, Clary & Associates raised more than $3,500 to help reduce disability and help save the lives of men, women and children from cardiovascular disease and stroke — two of the United States’ top-ranked killers. According to the American Heart Association, heart disease and stroke are ranked the Number One and Number Three causes of death, respectively, in the nation.

“It was very important to us to join in the fight to promote a healthier lifestyle and the importance of physical well-being,” said Shauna Perri, administrative assistant and team coordinator for Clary & Associates. “Our 11-person team represented the men, women and children who are affected by these health issues each year. Many people think of heart disease and stroke as adult issues, however, children are greatly affected as well. Every little bit helps.”

The Heart Walk, which promotes physical activity and heart-healthy living in a fun, family-friendly environment, is hosted annually by more than 600 cities across the nation. The Clary & Associates team joined in the three-mile Heart Walk to show their support for the cause, as well as to contribute funds and take donations on behalf of the American Heart Association. This year, over one million walkers participated in annual events nationwide.

“We are deeply appreciative to our employees, families and friends for their commitment to this important cause; and for participating in the Heart Walk or for sponsoring someone on our team,” said Greg Clary, founder and president of Clary & Associates. “We also give an enormous thanks to everyone who sent donations directly to the AHA and to our local office. Everyone from employees to business associates came together, gave generously of their time and money, and helped to make a difference. Donations are still coming in. For that, we are truly proud, and we look forward to next year’s event.”
