Keynote Speakers Set for Trimble International User Conference

Trimble Dimensions 2005—Move Your Business Forward

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 3, 2005 – Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today the keynote speaker line up for its International User Conference—Trimble Dimensions 2005. With more than 150 unique track sessions, the conference focuses on applying technology to the needs faced daily by surveying, construction, and civil engineering professionals. Trimble Dimensions 2005 will be held Oct. 23-26 at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.

Breaking barriers: making the impossible possible. Dr. Scott Pace, Associate Administrator for Program Analysis and Evaluation for NASA headquarters in Washington, DC, will discuss how NASA is using GPS today, tomorrow and its vision for the future. In addition, Dr. Pace will cover what is happening with GPS Modernization, the U.S. and EU agreement, and GPS and Galileo working group meetings.

History repeats itself: the Lindbergh family tradition. Erik Lindbergh, vice president of the Lindbergh Foundation, will discuss how he overcame crippling rheumatoid arthritis to retrace his grandfather’s historic New York to Paris solo flight in a small, single-engine aircraft and the role GPS played in his epic journey.

The digital construction site. Mark Pflederer, vice president of Caterpillar’s Technology & Solutions Division, will address the coupling of machine design, ruggedized and reliable positioning solutions, utilization of digital design data in the construction process and less rework for the earthmoving contractor.

Transforming engineering and construction through positioning technology. Steven W. Berglund, president and CEO of Trimble, will discuss how Trimble’s advanced positioning solutions are transforming the engineering and construction industries as well as his vision for the future of positioning technology.

The theme of Trimble Dimensions 2005 is Move Your Business Forward with an emphasis on improving productivity and lowering costs through the application of positioning, wireless and software technologies. The conference will feature a wide range of programs including presentations on the underlying technologies, sessions on applying technology to real world problems, introductory and advanced product training, and practical tips and techniques to help organizations grow their business and maximize return on investment. Many of the application sessions will utilize Trimble users to explain the practical use of technology in surveying, civil engineering, highway and heavy construction, site preparation, and construction vehicle fleet management, as well as other emerging applications. 

The conference scope will include the complete suite of Trimble survey, construction, engineering and infrastructure solutions, including products from Tripod Data Systems (TDS), Applanix, Pacific Crest and Apache. Highlighted solutions and technologies include GPS; total stations; field computing and data collection; 3D scanning; wireless communications; data transfer; and field and office applications.
