Livermore, CA – Topcon, the world’s leading manufacturer of precision positioning instruments and systems, proudly announces two high-level promotions. Joe Brabec will serve as Topcon’s chief technology officer, and Jamie Williamson will serve as senior vice president of sales and marketing.
Brabec’s prior eight-year success with Agtek, his extensive knowledge of technology, and his impressive performance record at Topcon make him highly qualified for this crucial position. As CTO, he will be responsible for guiding Topcon’s macro technology programs and formulating research / development budgets.
Brabec commented on his goals as CTO: “The future is exciting, especially with respect to technology and its application in the positioning markets. The decisions we make today will create practical tools that solve the problems and eliminate the inefficiencies that we are accustomed to living with. I am pleased to have this great opportunity to lead Topcon’s technology development into the future.”
Williamson joined the company in 1995 when Topcon Positioning Systems was formed. His prior responsibilities with Spectra Physics ranged from sales to worldwide product and marketing manager. During his years with Topcon, his leadership abilities and undaunted pursuit of goals have set a high standard for the company’s sales and marketing forces.
Williamson outlined his plans for directing the promotion and distribution of Topcon’s wide range of products: “Creating technically-advanced products isn’t enough. To truly benefit the people in the many professions and industries we serve, we must provide them with comprehensive information about positioning technologies that change constantly and new products that will improve their workflow. As director of Topcon’s sales and marketing forces¬, I am committed to sustaining and expanding the drive for continued excellence in all areas that benefit our customers.”
As Topcon continues to develop pioneer technologies and advanced products for land surveying, GIS, construction, and machine control applications, Brabec and Williamson will lead the company in their areas of expertise.
