Denver, Colo. — May 20, 2005 — Thomas Frey, founder of the DaVinci Institute and Senior Futurist, will speak on “The Future of Innovation”
at the 18th Annual GIS in the Rockies Conference in September. Karen Brandt, Chair of the GIS in the Rockies Planning Committee, said "We are very pleased to announce that Mr. Frey will address this year’s conference. He asks very thought-provoking questions about what future we want to create and how to go about it, and his questions often precipitate change and stimulate action."
The luncheon address is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday September 21st at INVESCO Field at Mile High.
Mr. Frey launched the DaVinci Institute in 1997 as a non-profit futurist think tank. It has emerged as a center of visionary thought, attracting both a national and international following of idea junkies and business leaders alike. He is the author of the book "Inventions of Impact" and has written numerous articles on a wide range of futurist topics. He has also been a contributing writer for The Futurist Magazine and is the publisher of an online emerging technology magazine the Impact Lab (http://www.impactlab.com).
Prior to founding the Institute, Mr. Frey spent 15 years at IBM as an engineer and designer where he received more awards than any other IBM engineer.
About the conference
The Conference will be September 21-23, 2005 at INVESCO Field at Mile High – East Side. The program theme is "The Geospatial Revolution: A Whole New View." Wednesday and Thursday will include technical sessions, a job fair, the exhibition, and workshops. Friday’s program includes technical tours and a geocaching event.
