Bowman to Make Donation to David Dingman-Grover Cancer Fund

Leading Engineering Firm To Help Fund Local Cancer Survivor’s Medical Care

Leesburg, VA  — Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. is pleased to announce that it will be contributing to the David Dingman-Grover Cancer Fund, which benefits the continued health care of a nine-year old Sterling boy who garnered national media coverage after he had nicknamed his brain tumor “Frank” and his mother had launched an online auction to help pay for his medical bills.  The boy, David Dingman-Grover, is now cancer-free.

Bowman’s donation will be in conjunction with a ceremony scheduled for April 5 where the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors will proclaim April 5 as David Dingman-Grover day.

Dingman-Grover had most of his tumor removed February 2 at the Skull Base Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after he was diagnosed in 2003 with a grapefruit-sized malignant tumor.  After nicknaming the brain tumor Frank in reference to Frankenstein’s monster, his mother auctioned off “Frank Must Die” bumper stickers on Ebay to pay for his medical bills.

“We are extremely proud of David for his remarkable recovery,” said Bowman Consulting Principal and Regional Vice President Patrick Quante. “We are pleased to contribute to his continued medical expenses to ensure that he gets the care he needs and lives a long life to tell his amazing story.”
