Optech announces reorganization of sales staff

Toronto, Ontario, March 18, 2005 – Optech Incorporated, the global leader in the development and manufacture of laser-based survey instruments, is pleased to announce a reorganization of its Sales Team.

Wayne Szameitat has accepted the position of Sales Manager, Marine Survey Division. Mr. Szameitat becomes the first Sales Manager in the Marine Survey Division. Having been involved in the sales process with Optech’s SHOALS Airborne Lidar Bathymeter for several years, Mr. Szameitat is the ideal person for this role. Previously, Mr. Szameitat held the position of Assistant Sales Manager, Terrestrial Survey Division.

David Collison, Regional Sales Manager, Asia, will pick up Mr. Szameitat’s former dedicated Terrestrial Division sales region of Japan. Mr. Collison will maintain Optech’s strong focus on sales of its Airborne Laser Terrain Mapper (ALTM) in the Asia-Pacific region.

In addition, Eric Liberty has accepted the position of Sales Manager, Americas, Laser Imaging Division. Mr. Liberty formerly held the position of National Sales Manager, Americas, Terrestrial Survey Division. Mr. Liberty will take a leadership role in increasing sales and product awareness of ILRIS-3D, Optech’s Intelligent Laser Ranging and Imaging System.

Mr. Liberty’s Terrestrial Division sales portfolio will now be divided between Jim Green, who takes on the position of Regional Sales Manager, Western USA, Terrestrial Survey Division, and Mike Smallwood, Regional Sales Manager, Eastern USA, Terrestrial Survey Division. Mr. Smallwood will also take on some additional responsibilities in managing Technology Partnerships.

Daina Vagners continues in the role of Regional Sales Manager, Europe, Terrestrial Survey Division. Regional Sales Positions in the Terrestrial Survey Division for Canada and South America, and Africa and the Middle East, will be filled in the near future.

Finally, Bill Gutelius, Government Relations Manager, will add Canadian government and university business development responsibilities to his existing US government and university portfolio.
