Elyria, Ohio — Mark A. Yeager, P.S., director of surveying services for KS Associates, has been named Surveyor of the Year by the Cleveland Chapter of the Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio (PLSO). This annual award recognizes the surveyor’s technical and professional accomplishments; current professional activities; the extent to which the individual has given to the advancement of the profession; and the involvement in civic and community affairs.
With more than 24 years of land surveying experience, Yeager directs the KS Associates Survey Group. Under Yeager’s leadership, KS Associates has built one of Northern Ohio’s largest and most accomplished survey teams. The group is comprised of six field crews and has on its team six registered Professional Surveyors. Yeager’s team provides a variety of services including topographic, boundary and utility location surveys; ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys; right of ways and easements; roadway corridor/route surveys; GPS surveys; elevation certificates; and construction staking. Clients include commercial and residential land developers, local counties and municipalities, utility companies, and architecture and engineering firms.
One of the most significant KS Associates projects directed under Yeager’s supervision is the Euclid Corridor Transportation Project. The project required nearly 22,500 man-hours, making this the largest survey project in the history of the firm. Yeager has also directed multiple projects related to the major expansion underway at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, and has delivered surveying services for Cleveland Lakefront State Parks, Akron METRO rail corridors and NASA Glenn Research Center.
PLSO is a professional organization comprised of Professional Surveyors registered in the State of Ohio. The Cleveland Chapter serves Cuyahoga and Lorain counties and is the second largest chapter in the state with approximately 140 members. PLSO was formed to promote the advancement of professional surveying through education; to provide a forum for cooperation and liaison among Professional Surveyors and individuals in related fields; and to educate the public about the services, principles and practices of the profession.
