Leading Engineering Firm Backs Area’s Only Building Industry Career Expo
Chantilly, VA — Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd., a leading provider of engineering, planning, surveying and environmental consulting in the mid-Atlantic region, is sponsoring the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association’s (NVBIA) Spring 2005 Building Careers in Construction Job Fair on Wednesday, March 9 at The Waterford at Fair Oaks.
The event, which is the only career fair in the Washington Metropolitan area dedicated solely to the homebuilding industry, is expected to attract hundreds of local college students and up to 30 firms specializing in homebuilding, engineering and architecture.
NVBIA, which held its inaugural job fair last fall, decided to start hosting the event twice a year based on the success of the initial expo. This will be the first time that NVBIA will be having a major event sponsor.
“Having a reputable company like Bowman sponsoring this event will help attract a lot of engineering students and it will also get other firms involved,” said NVBIA Membership Manager Lori Washington, who is coordinating the event.
According to Washington, just about all of the firms that participated in last year’s job fair hired someone as a result of the event.
