Clary & Associates Makes The Grade With Outstanding Performance Evaluations

Jacksonville, FL — February 10, 2005 — In the interest of safeguarding the life, health and property of Florida’s public, the practice of professional and state land surveying is subject to regulation and periodic evaluation. Earning consistently high marks on project evaluations — such as those administered by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) — Clary & Associates continues to enjoy its reputation as a leading provider of professional surveying and mapping services throughout the state.

With the highest possible score being 100 percent, Clary & Associates regularly ranks as a “straight-A student” on land surveying and mapping performance evaluations made by government agencies. The criteria for these evaluations are based on the state’s Consultants Competitive Negotiation Act (CCNA), which sets the parameters by which businesses fairly compete for government contracts.

“Effective evaluations are an important way for government agencies to regularly report the work performance of their independent professional surveying and mapping firms,” said Dennis Elswick, executive vice president of Clary & Associates. “The practice also sets a necessary benchmark for businesses wanting to provide services to local and state government. A high standard of quality of services must be maintained, as this has a direct impact on the public and its safety.”

As with the FDOT, necessary interim and final performance evaluations are made by Project Managers to document a firm’s performance during their contract period. These evaluations also assist government agencies in determining the firm’s suitability for future project selection. Performance histories effect such a decision.

In performing evaluations, Project Managers use the following grade criteria:

1.) The Quality Grade — Indicates the firm’s attention and concern to a quality product.

2.) The Schedule Grade — Indicates the firm’s performance in meeting the contract schedule and timeliness of responses to government agency requests.

3.) The Management Grade — Indicates the firm’s technical and management knowledge, as well as their professional ability to work with all necessary resources to deliver a high quality product while remaining within all contract limits.

Overall, consistent quality is critical, given that the evaluation is comprised of all three criteria and it is reviewed, evaluated and documented throughout the project.

“In our most recent performance evaluation administered by the FDOT, our Composite Grade was 96 percent,” Elswick said. “Our Quality, Schedule and Management Grades were 97, 95 and 96 percent, respectively. We are committed to maintaining high standards of work, and we strive for excellence in all of our Government and Private Sector Division projects. Our team remains dedicated to serving well our valued clients.”
