EarthData Appoints New Senior Vice President of Corporate Sales

Industry Veteran, Joel Campbell, Will Grow Sales Worldwide

Washington, DC (January 24, 2005) – Anne Hale Miglarese, CEO of EarthData, a leading mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) organization, announced the appointment of Joel Campbell as Senior Vice President of Corporate Sales.  In this newly created position, Mr. Campbell will expand and lead the organization’s worldwide sales teams, develop new vertical and geographic markets, and maintain strong relationships with EarthData’s existing customer base.   Mr. Campbell also will support the organization in acquisitions, legislative action, strategic planning, and industry affiliations. 

Mr. Campbell brings over 14 years of experience in all aspects of business development in the geospatial services profession.  Prior to joining EarthData, Mr. Campbell was Director of US Sales and Manager of the Washington, DC, regional office of ESRI, the industry leader in GIS software and services.  Under his direction, Washington, DC, operations grew to nearly 150 employees focused on providing software and services to the region’s diverse customer base.  Most recently, Mr. Campbell was instrumental in the successful launch of the ArcGIS 9.0 product line.

Mr. Campbell was educated in broadcast communications at the University of Maryland and spent 10 years in various positions in the commercial television industry before beginning his career in GIS and information technology.

Mr. Campbell officially begins his tenure with EarthData on February 7, 2005.
