Intergraph Successful in GML Relay

Geospatial vendors showcase interoperability of software products

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Dec. 2, 2004 — Intergraph <NASDAQ: INGR> Mapping and Geospatial Solutions Netherlands successfully participated in the third GML Relay at the "Standards in Action" event held at the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. The event demonstrates the easy, open exchange of spatial data using the Open Geospatial Consortium’s (OGC) Geographic Markup Language (GML) standard. The GML standard is an XML encoding for spatial data and related attributes used for storing and transporting geospatial information.

At the GML Relay, Intergraph joined a record number of attendees including other geospatial vendors; attendees from leading Dutch Universities; national and regional government departments; the Dutch Department of Spatial Structure and Environment; and various private companies active in the geospatial industry.

Intergraph showcased the interoperability of its GeoMedia(R) products and company-developed, open standards components. These were presented through the smooth display and manipulation of the 4Mb data model of the City of Gouda, the Netherlands, and surrounding areas that were defined using the TOP10NL (GML2.1) data model of the Topographic Service Cadastre. The GML data was exchanged among the geospatial vendors to show the reliability of the GML standard. Intergraph also gave a live demonstration of its Web Feature Services (WFS) data server and Web Map Services (WMS) data server by connecting to numerous Dutch Web portals.

"Intergraph has participated in all three GML Relays, showing its long-term and strong support of GML, interoperability and the OGC mission," said Bart Hoogenraad, Vice President, Global Marketing, Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions.

Intergraph has developed OGC extensions, including WFS data server, GML Data Server and Export tools and WMS to extend enterprisewide interoperability.
