By combining NavCom’s RTK and StarFire Network, GPSWest, Inc. is able to offer NavCom’s new RTK Extend feature that increases operator efficiency by allowing continued work during radio communication outages.
Torrance, CA – October 27, 2004 – NavCom Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary of Deere & Company (NYSE:DE), announced today that GPSWest, Inc. has chosen to use NavCom Technology GPS receivers for their machine control systems and their construction survey solutions. GPSWest’s blade control systems are used on bulldozers and construction equipment for grading and other earth moving applications. Their system utilizes NavCom’s NCT-2030M or SF-2050M receivers that are combined with a WalkAbout touch screen computer and Pacific Crest SiteCom radios to provide an RTK machine control system capable of guiding the blade’s edge with centimeter precision. GPSWest also provides construction survey systems using NavCom’s SF-2040G receiver for grade planning and site
stakeout applications.
"The addition of GPSWest, Inc. to NavCom Technology’s U.S. Dealer Network is an important advancement towards providing better solutions for machine control and land survey applications in construction environments," said Chris Litton, Sales Manager for NavCom Technology. "NavCom Technology provides the worlds most accurate position measurement devices which are now coupled with RTK Extend allowing accurate work to continue when RTK communication drops out."
"It is our belief that NavCom Technology’s new RTK Extend feature will provide our clients with a superior and more accurate product than competitive GPS systems," said Marty Schmidt, CEO for GPSWest. "We are pleased to be part of NavCom Technology’s dealer network.
