Ulteig Engineers named in top 100

FARGO, N.D. – August 17, 2004 – Fargo-based Ulteig Engineers, with offices in three states, has been recognized as one of the top 100 fastest-growing engineering, environmental and architectural consulting firms in the nation.

Ulteig Engineers is ranked No. 95 on The ZweigWhite Hot Firm 2004 List, the only North Dakota-based firm to make the list. Ulteig also has offices in Minnesota and South Dakota.

“It’s always very rewarding for us to be recognized on the national level,” said Ulteig Engineers President Gerry Floden. “It’s a credit to our experienced and dedicated employees who are committed to excellence in serving our clients.”

Ulteig increased its gross revenues by 48 percent, going from a little more than $16 million in 2000 to nearly $24 million in 2003. The award will be presented to Floden at a conference sponsored by ZweigWhite in Boston in October.

The list was compiled from questionnaires sent to firms around the country and is based on gross revenues from 2000 and 2003. The figures were verified by a third party. The firms are judged equally on dollar growth and percentage growth to give both small and large firms an opportunity to make the list. The complete list is available online at http://events.zweigwhite.com/hotfirm2004/2004_winners.htm.

During its 60-year history, Ulteig has served a broad range of public and private clients. Primary market sectors include aviation, building services, electric utilities, land services, municipal engineering, transportation and water/wastewater engineering services.

Ulteig Engineers is based in Fargo and has regional offices in Bismarck, N.D., Sioux Falls, S.D., and Minneapolis and Detroit Lakes, Minn. The firm has approximately 250 employees.
