ERDAS Connects with World Intelligence Community at DGI 2011

Norcross, GA —ERDAS will attend Defense Geospatial Intelligence (DGI) 2011 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London, UK, January 24-27, 2011. DGI facilitates high-level discussion of the importance and challenges of using geospatial intelligence in defense and national security operations.  It is the largest forum of its kind in Europe, averaging about 600 attendees from around the world each year, including many important figures in military, governmental and national security sectors.

ERDAS and partner Astrium GEO-Information Services (formerly Infoterra) are both corporate sponsors for this year’s conference and will be sharing exhibition space. During the event, ERDAS will showcase the new ERDAS® 2011 Software Release, which includes updated and enhanced versions of ERDAS IMAGINE®, LPS, ERDAS APOLLO, ERDAS Extensions for ArcGIS® and other leading desktop and server products. Portfolio-wide changes for the ERDAS 2011 Software Release include the ability to localize ERDAS products for a global audience, integrated support for Bing™ Maps base imagery and map data, and distributed processing throughout the desktop offerings.

“ERDAS enthusiastically supports this important European Geospatial Intelligence event and welcomes the opportunity to meet many of our important customers. ERDAS is especially looking forward to introducing the defense and intelligence community to the enhanced imagery analysis workflow in ERDAS IMAGINE 2011. We’re also anticipating a high level of interest in our data management and delivery solution, ERDAS APOLLO,” said Andy Garratt, Sales Director, EMEA.

The imagery analysis workflow in ERDAS IMAGINE 2011 includes new tools and an enhanced interface designed for quick and easy creation of presentation products.  The most demanding image analysts, including those in the defense and intelligence community, will benefit from improved text editing for imagery annotations, inset views, new templates with elements that automatically update based on metadata from inserted imagery, and single-click exporting to Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, or JPEG.

ERDAS APOLLO is the market-leading solution for managing and delivering feature data, terrain and virtually any digital object in an enterprise. Fine-grained security settings enable administrators to specify the datasets, aggregates, spatial ranges and resolutions each role or user may view. Available in three product tiers, ERDAS APOLLO suits a wide spectrum of organizations – from those that simply need a very low-cost, remarkably fast image server to those requiring a comprehensive data management system.  All three tiers offer remarkably fast performance, even when handling massive data archives and many users.
