Graz, Austria — May 11, 2010 — AeroPrecisa Limited has contracted with Vexcel Imaging GmbH, a Microsoft® company, to purchase an UltraCamLp medium-format camera system, including an inertial measurement unit (IMU) and camera mount. The entire deal, which included the purchase of an airplane, was brokered by Vexcel Imaging reseller GIS/Transport, Ltd., based in Beirut, Lebanon.
”AeroPrecisa felt the time was right to own our own airplane and digital camera system,” said Mr. Fayez Khalaf, the General Manager of AeroPrecisa in Nigeria. “After comparing the available systems, we decided the UltraCamLp provided us with excellent performance/price ratio.” He continued, “It was the best fit for our work with both the private and public sector in Nigeria. Our projects vary from water resources, dams, and road design projects to city planning, military, mapping, and environmental projects.”
The UltraCamLp photogrammetric medium-format digital aerial camera provides a reliable and economical solution for producing image data of exceptional quality. Taking advantage of the large-format camera concept that has proven successful with the UltraCamX, UltraCamXp and UltraCam Xp Wide Angle, the UltraCamLp offers the same geometric accuracy and dynamic range to the medium-format market.
“We are very pleased to announce the first sale of a Vexcel camera system in Nigeria,” said Alexander Wiechert, Business Director of Microsoft and Managing Director for Vexcel Imaging GmbH. “Vexcel Imaging’s reseller, Dr. Kamal Azar, worked closely with the customer to facilitate the purchase of an airplane along with the camera, IMU and camera mount, so AeroPrecisa was able to take delivery of a complete system ready to fly.”
