Vancouver – MacKay & Sposito, Inc. (M&S) is pleased to announce Tim Kent, PLS was named Oregon Surveyor of the Year at the annual (Professional Land Surveyors of Oregon) PLSO conference on January 14, 2010.
Kent, Vancouver, WA resident has over 37 years of land surveying experience. In addition, he has spent the past five years as a professor; starting at the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) and currently at Clark College as the program coordinator and instructor for the Surveying Program. Tim holds PLS licenses in the states of Washington, Oregon, Alaska, California, Colorado, and is also an Oregon Water Rights Examiner.
Previously, Kent was elected Land Surveyors’ Association of Washington (LSAW) Surveyor of the Year in 1996 and 1998 – making him the only land surveyor to date to win the award twice.
Kent is an active member in American Congress on Surveying & Mapping (ACSM), National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), PLSO, and LSAW. He was recently elected as the Area 10 Director for NSPS and is also the state coordinator for the TrigStar program for the PLSO. Notably, he initiated the TwiST (Teaching with Spatial Technology) program for K-12 teachers in Oregon and Washington last year.
