GPSDifferential Module for MobileMapper 6 Released

Magellan post-processing option newly available within DigiTerra® Explorer 6 software enables users to achieve sub-meter GPS performance.

Nantes, France – December 2, 2009: Magellan® Professional announces the availability of the MobileMapper™ 6 GPSDifferential™ module for the DigiTerra Explorer 6 software application. With the GPSDifferential module for the MobileMapper 6, sub-meter mapping is easy to achieve, even where real-time corrections are not available. The GPSDifferential module for the MobileMapper 6 is a software option that has been integrated into the new version of DigiTerra Explorer 6 to provide sub-meter performance for DigiTerra Explorer users working with a MobileMapper 6 device.

Behind the scenes and without interrupting normal workflow, the GPSDifferential module automatically logs the raw data that is required for reliable sub-meter post-processed differential corrections. The raw data file stored by this software extension can be post-processed using MobileMapper 6 Office, which is included in the GPSDifferential module offer. This will affect neither real-time data collection storage nor the structure of the real-time data format. Post-processed data is exported with attributes in shapefile standard format.

MobileMapper 6 with DigiTerra Explorer 6 software empowered by Magellan GPSDifferential option is particularly appealing to forestry, agriculture and other natural resources related markets that need a highly-rugged, easy-to-use mobile GIS device at low cost, yet delivering sub-meter accuracy.
