RETTEW Names Falkenstein and Young Newest Shareholders

Lancaster, Pa. — RETTEW, a multidiscipline engineering, planning, surveying and environmental consulting firm, recently named Timothy A. Falkenstein and Joel E. Young, RLA, newest shareholders of the firm.

“These two outstanding individuals are deserving of shareholder status because of their strong work ethic and passion to serve,” said George W. Timothy A. Falkenstein
A group manager in the firm’s environmental sciences service area, Falkenstein is responsible for building and maintaining client relationships and providing guidance to other professional staff, including project managers, biologists, archeologists and RETTEW’s historic resources specialist. With more than 20 years of environmental consulting experience, he also manages projects across multiple service areas to ensure that they are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, he leads business development and marketing efforts in his service area.   

Falkenstein holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental resource management from Penn State University and a master’s degree in biology from Ship­pensburg University. He volunteers for the York County Park System and is a member of the Society of Wetland Scientists and the Muhlenberg Botanical Society. Falkenstein resides in Springettsbury Township, York County, Pa.

Joel E. Young, RLA
Young is a group manager in RETTEW’s land development service area and responsible for managing project teams and coaching staff. Additionally, he provides site design, site planning, master planning, zoning submittals, land development submittals and cost estimates for numerous educational institutions, urban revitalization projects, housing developments and recreation projects. With nearly 20 years of experience in landscape architecture and site planning, Young also assists with consultant coordination, budget management, making public presentations and project management.

A registered landscape architect (RLA) in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New York, Young earned a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Penn State University and a master’s degree in landscape architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and the Urban Land Institute. He resides in Willow Street, Lancaster County, Pa.
