Océ TCS500 and Océ TDS Series Recognized for Second Consecutive Year
June 18, 2008, Trumbull, CT – Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery solutions, today announced that its wide format hardware solutions have received four BERTL’s Best Awards, the most given to any wide format vendor in 2008. Each year, independent BERTL® research analysts draw on their knowledge of the competitive wide format landscape and extensive product testing to recognize the wide format products that deliver overall business process value, functionality and performance to users.
“We are pleased to be recognized, yet again, by BERTL’s authoritative wide format analysis,” said Sal Sheikh, Vice President, Marketing, Wide Format Printing Systems division of Océ North America. “These four awards highlight Océ’s ability to provide hardworking, high quality products that cover a broad spectrum of user needs – from mid volume color to high volume monochrome print systems to cost-effective scanning solutions.”
Recognizing the Best
After analyzing digital imaging devices from industry leaders such as Océ, Canon, Ricoh, KIP and Xerox, BERTL awarded the following Océ wide format products top honors in their respective categories:
• Océ TCS500 – Best Mid Volume AEC Color Wide Format Solution, 2nd Year
• Océ TDS600/700/800 Pro Series – Best Centralized High Volume Wide Format Solution, 2nd Year
• Océ CS4136 – Best Value for Price Wide Format 36” Scanner
• Océ CS4142 – Best Value for Price Wide Format 42” Scanner
“The BERTL’s Best Awards serve as an educational guidepost, helping first time and experienced corporate wide format experts keep pace with a rapidly developing marketplace,” said Margie Davis, Managing Director of BERTL. "As in years past, Océ has outperformed its competitors in several categories based on its products’ proven ability to provide users with a competitive advantage, excellent return on investment and outstanding image and design quality.”
Award-Winning Products
The Océ TCS500 large format multifunction system was recognized for its unmatched media capacity of up to three rolls, which allows for simultaneous use of mixed media types or sizes. BERTL also referenced the system’s use of the Océ Power Logic® controller that provides advanced print management – allowing users to view, hold, stop or prioritize print jobs. The Océ TDS600, Océ TDS700 and Océ TDS800 were singled out for their workhorse ability, making them well suited for high volume environments, such as central reprographics departments or reprographics shops. The systems also exemplify multi-tasking at its best – enabling users to print, copy and scan concurrently thanks to the Océ Power Logic controller.
Two of Océ’s wide format color scanners received awards for their superior performance and value. BERTL recognized the Océ CS4136 and the Océ CS4142 as the best all round value for the price in the 36” and 42” scanning segments, respectively. In addition, BERTL highlighted both scanners’ on-site service warranty, speed, lens accuracy and support for media scanning thicknesses up to 0.6’’ – thereby meeting user needs in all industry segments.
