Haddon Heights, NJ – Pennoni Associates, an ENR Top 500 consulting engineering firm headquartered in Philadelphia, has been recognized by the New Jersey General Assembly and Assemblyman Jack Conners (District 7) for its “public-spirited ownership and staff.” Pennoni has four office locations in New Jersey: Haddon Heights, Edison, Cedar Knolls, and Vineland, as well as 16 other offices in the Northeastern United States.
Pennoni’s President and CEO Anthony S. Bartolomeo, P.E., was presented with an Assembly Resolution on behalf of the firm by Assemblyman Conners at a ceremony held at Pennoni’s offices in early May 2008. The resolution honors and salutes the firm for its work to better the quality of life in the communities where it does business, specifically commending the firm’s leadership for “its praiseworthy support of a myriad of endeavors in benefit of those in need.”
The staff of Pennoni Associates gives generously of their time, talents and money to a large list of non-profit and community-oriented causes including the American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, American Red Cross, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Habitat for Humanity, and Boy Scouts of America to name just a few. Pennoni Associates often supports its staff with paid time for service, matching donations, and use of firm resources to support the organizations most important to them. This culture of giving is one modeled after the values established by the firm’s founder, C.R. “Chuck” Pennoni, P.E., who has insisted that community and charitable service be a cornerstone of the firm’s culture since its inception in 1966.
In particular, the resolution recognizes the firm’s significant efforts to support various Veterans groups in New Jersey. Pennoni Associates has and continues to make significant contributions to the Veterans of Foreign War Post in Delran and supports the Annual POW/MIA Breakfast in Burlington County. They also hold drives to collect food, toiletries and other much-needed items to ship to soldiers overseas, as well as donating hundreds of phone cards for the nation’s troops. Albert Bucchi, a Municipal Inspector with Pennoni and a Vietnam Veteran, serves with distinction as the Legislative Director of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for the state, and leads many of Pennoni’s initiatives to support veterans. Al, along with several other Pennoni staff members, is part of the Pennoni Veterans’ Club, established to lead the firm’s efforts in recognizing and supporting Veteran causes.
It was this support of Veteran’s groups that brought the firm to the attention of Assemblyman Conners (pictured center above with Al Bucchi, left, and Tony Bartolomeo, right); being a Veteran himself and serving as Chair of the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee and a member of the New Jersey Council on Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs, the Assemblyman felt Pennoni deserved recognition for its devotion to supporting these important causes. Through its Resolution, the General Assembly recognized Pennoni as a distinguished member of the New Jersey business community that has clearly demonstrated its devotion to serving the people of the State of New Jersey.
