Denver, Colorado – August 14, 2007 – TopoSys GmbH, Biberach, Germany, is please to announce that TopoSys has successfully established a certified Quality Management System according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
The certificate covers all business fields of TopoSys, including sensor production and LiDAR service projects. The certificate is available for download at www.toposys.com in the open download section.
TopoSys has introduced a complete line of LIDAR sensor systems, engineered to address the increasing applications for aerial LIDAR, from precise wide-area topographic mapping to high-density corridor mapping.
The TopoSys LIDAR sensor family consists of three systems: The Falcon III, Harrier 56/G3, and Harrier 24.
The Falcon III utilizes a unique, technologically advanced fibre-optic linear array LiDAR sensor with an effective measurement rate of 125kHz and an integrated four-channel (R, G, B, NIR) optical line scanner that can simultaneously acquire high-resolution, multi-spectral imagery plus elevation data. The fibre based system follows electronic distance measurement (EDM) guidelines no other sensor does, resulting in the highest data quality; fast and sensitive echo detection; and outstanding production efficiency.
Harrier 56/G3 represents the leading edge in LIDAR scanning and digital image acquisition. Full-Wave-Form echo digitization, 200 kHz pulse rate Riegl LMSQ560 Laser scanner combined with a calibrated 39M pixel camera makes the sensor a perfect tool for corridor mapping, engineering site development, forestry, natural resource, flood and topographic mapping.
The full waveform digitization feature of the Harrier 56/G3 enables the user to extract the most comprehensive vertical information from the echo signals. The integrated digital camera is designed to generate high quality color and CIR digital imagery, geometrically and radiometrically calibrated. The camera is also designed to operate as a stand alone to serve medium altitude, aerial image projects for mapping or photogrammetric applications.
Harrier 24 is an optimised entry-level system for helicopter-based mapping with the combination of a calibrated 39M pixel camera and a low-cost 10 kHz Laser. The Harrier 24 is ready to use, allowing organizations to easily add LIDAR scanning to their existing business with the dual benefit of providing digital imaging as well as LIDAR for aerial surveys and remote sensing.
All three sensor systems are complemented by TopPIT, the Lidar processing software developed by TopoSys to support hardware specific pre-processing and streamline data for DEM and true ortho-image production. Third-party software can plug into the workflow through standardised interfaces.
“TopoSys enjoys a unique position in its dual role as an established sensor operator within Europe and Lidar system manufacturer,” said Alexander Wiechert, president, TopoSys North America, Inc. “This position provides TopoSys a broad base of expertise that is unmatched by any other vendor. We expect our customers and partners will benefit tremendously from access to TopoSys experience and knowledge – from sensor operation to the production of digital terrain models, digital RGB and CIR images, all the way through to providing consulting services in customer-specific applications. This is supported by an experienced support team and tailored training programs for hardware and software.”
About TopoSys
TopoSys Topographische Systemdaten GmbH was founded in 1995 as a spin-off of Dornier GmbH, one of the world’s leading air- and spacecraft manufacturers. Building on its long-standing expertise in the development and production of fibre-optic LiDAR scanners, TopoSys is committed to the manufacturing and worldwide marketing of turnkey LiDAR systems that include three newly developed products: Falcon III, Harrier 56 and Harrier 24. This well-balanced family of sensor systems allows TopoSys customers to deliver all LiDAR applications from precise, wide-area topographic mapping to high-density corridor mapping.
