Front Royal, Va. (June 21, 2007)– Carlson College was recently awarded designation as an IACET Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education. Carlson College conducts training classes in the use of civil/survey applications and is a division of Carlson Software Inc.
“Following a stringent site visit to our offices in Virginia, we were very pleased that IACET approved both our training processes and record keeping,” says Harry O. Ward, PE, director of Training and Services for Carlson College (formerly OutSource Inc.).
Carlson College joins the elite list of organizations that meet IACET’s internationally recognized continuing education and training standards. As an Authorized Provider, Carlson College may award IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to the engineers, surveyors, and other professionals who attend their training classes.
“A major item that was considered in our approval was the fact that we educate the attendee as part of our training – we teach the math and algorithms behind the software’s processing so the attendee understands what the software is doing. Now,” Ward adds, “not only are they learning something that will help them do their jobs better, they can use the training to maintain their licenses.”
Carlson College classes include training for all Carlson Software products, which include Civil, Survey, Mining, Takeoff, Hydrology, Grade, Road, and more, plus the Autodesk Civil/Survey products MAP, Raster Design, Civil 3D, and Land Desktop. Carlson College also conducts training for data-prep for GPS-guided machine control and 3D modeling.
Training sites for Carlson College are in Virginia, Kentucky, and Massachusetts, plus regional and special on-site training throughout the U.S. can be scheduled. For more information about Carlson College, visit www.carlsonsw.com/training or call 800-989-5028.
