Saves time and increases ROI
Toronto, December 18, 2006 – Optech Incorporated is pleased to announce another technical advance in airborne lidar mapping: an accelerated scanner rate of 100 Hz.
Optech’s ALTM Gemini now scans at rates up to 100 Hz. This accelerated scan frequency will directly save time and money for all surveyors using Optech’s ALTM Gemini.
Cost-benefit analyses show that faster scan frequencies allow surveyors to reduce their single greatest expense, the amount of time spent in the air acquiring data. With its new 100 Hz scanner, the ATLM Gemini is now the fastest scanning lidar instrument on the market. The increased scanner speed allows for an optimal distribution of laser points, heightened accuracy and a significant improvement in overall system performance. With the ALTM Gemini, either less time will be spent in-flight or, if the flight-time is the same, more data will be acquired. In either case the end result will be a bottom line increase in ROI.
“Our team of scientists continues to meet the demands of the marketplace. By maintaining a constant dialogue with our customers, Optech is able to anticipate our customers’ needs and their future challenges,” says Brent Gelhar, Director Terrestrial Survey Division. “With over 30 years of lidar research, development and manufacturing experience, Optech is positioned to sustain the continued drive for excellence within the airborne lidar community. Optech’s renown for providing customized solutions on a regular basis is a point of pride that no other commercial airborne lidar manufacturer can claim.”
Optech’s ALTM products continue to set the global standard for airborne laser terrain mapping. Innovative features such as the ALTM Gemini with its 167 kHz laser rep rate, 100 Hz scan rate, Multipulse technology, the Waveform Digitizer, the capability to measure multiple pulses/returns, digital camera integration, DASHMap and Zinview software packages–all these make Optech the obvious choice in airborne lidar systems.
