Logan, UT – Juniper Systems, Inc. announced today the release of the Cedar CT8 Rugged Tablet, an affordable high-performance Android tablet.
The CT8 – the third Cedar tablet – marks a major upgrade in performance and GPS capability over its predecessor the Cedar CT7G Rugged Tablet. Packed behind the CT8’s 8-inch high visibility display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-core processor runs Android 8.1 with full Google Mobile Services. The rugged tablet includes dual nano-SIM card slots and enhanced location services with a u-blox M8030 GNSS chip.
“Not only is the CT8 fast and affordable, but it’s also got rugged bones,” said Cody Draper, Juniper Systems Cedar product manager. “Job sites that need a formidable entry-level rugged tablet will find the CT8’s features easily meet – then exceed those needs.”
Rugged and rated IP67, the CT8 boasts functionality and versatility at work or home. Its 8,000 mAh removable battery, two programmable buttons, Gorilla Glass display, and optional accessories posture it as an affordable rugged option for the workplace. Its thin profile and slick styling fit in at home.
Optional tablet accessories include a 1D/2D barcode reader or a UHF RFID reader, positioning the CT8 as rugged mobile asset management device.
“The CT8 is another unmatched Cedar product,” Juniper Systems CEO DeVon Labrum said. “It’s an excellent starting place for field professionals in demanding work environments. The CT8 certainly holds its own among rugged tablets.”
The CT8 is available globally and works on any GSM network. Juniper Systems released another Cedar device, the Cedar CP3 Rugged Smartphone, in September. The CT7G was released in 2017.
