Trimble Introduces New Cloud-based Application for Real-Time Tool and Material Asset Management for MEP Contractors

Real-Time Asset Information Provides Contractors the Ability to Gain Insight into the Location and Utilization of Tools and Material Assets

Las Vegas, Nov. 3, 2014—Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) introduced today its Trimble® AllTrak Cloud, a new, cloud-based tool and material asset management application for Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) contractors. The application will provide MEP contractors with the ability to gain insight into tool and material asset location as well as utilization and service scheduling both in the office and on the jobsite.

The announcement was made at Trimble Dimensions.

With the typical MEP contractor maintaining many thousands of tools and material assets, proper management and allocation of these items, in warehouses, and on service trucks, is a constant challenge. With the introduction of Trimble AllTrak Cloud, contractors are now able to instantly gain access to asset information that allows for proper jobsite allocation, service scheduling and project utilization. With this information, contractors can now have confidence in
knowing where their assets are currently located, who is currently responsible for those assets, whether the equipment is locked up at the end of the day, and that dispatched service vehicles are properly equipped to complete the job.

“Knowing the location and utilization of assets on a jobsite, in a warehouse or on a service vehicle is key for MEP contractors,” said Pat Bohle, general manager of Trimble’s MEP Division. “With Trimble AllTrak Cloud, contractors now have access to real-time information that equips decision makers with the insight they need to properly locate and utilize assets, while ensuring equipment is properly maintained and available when it is needed.”

Utilizing the latest cloud technology, users can access tool and material asset information from any Web browser or remotely with the mobile application. AllTrak Cloud supports both barcode and RFID technologies, through a mobile scanner, allowing for easy check-in and check-out of equipment. With the ability to acknowledge asset receipt, users now have a full audit trail of asset responsibility. Through the use of role specific Dashboards, managers can quickly gain access into tool utilization, service requirements and theft/loss. Built-in certification records ensure that tools are properly serviced and maintained, while employees are properly matched to tools they are certified to use.

Availability
Trimble AllTrak Cloud is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2015 directly through Trimble’s MEP sales organization.
