Topcon’s Hybrid Positioning
Topcon Positioning Group announces a new technology–Hybrid Positioning™– that increases efficiencies and improves productivity on job sites, regardless of conditions, terrain or location. Hybrid Positioning is enabled through the Topcon MAGNET™ software suite, a Topcon enterprise solution for the geomatics industry. Hybrid Lock allows accurate prism tracking by simply turning the instrument toward the prism location. Hybrid Resection ensures quick job site setup, as well as establishing RTK and geodetic coordinates. Hybrid Switch ensures a quick changeover from GNSS to optical measurement with a single touch. Auto-localization utilizes BingTM Maps background, multi-point localization and works with RTK and NMEA positioning.
Topcon GLS-2000 Scanner
Topcon Positioning Group announces the GLS-2000 laser scanner designed for ease of use in any job situation. With its 350m (1,150ft) eye-safe long-range scanning technology, the GLS-2000 features survey-grade accuracy that reduces the amount of scan setups required on site. The integrated twin cameras help ensure that the images recorded provide the best possible definition photography for all levels of scan detail. Its dual-axis compensators provide tighter registration, overall increased accuracy, and increased field flexibility to help meet the needs of unique site logistics and project situations.
JAVAD GNSS Triumph LS
JAVAD GNSS’ latest receiver incorporates 864 channels which can be used to track existing and future satellites as well as monitoring for interference. Also new is a 25-hour battery, even with full screen brightness and UHF/GSM. The battery can be recharged in two hours. The LS, with pole, weighs less than six pounds, making it the lightest comparable unit on the market. The LS software now incorporates several routines that are compatible with the way in which American surveyors work, including buttons on the 800×480 home screen for Collect, Stakeout and COGO. New in the LS is offset surveying with photogrammetry. With the internal camera, offset accuracies of ±10cm are possible, out to 30-40 meters. Using an external camera, accuracies of ±5cm are possible.
