The organisers of the UK trade exhibition GEO-North have announced a list of sponsor organisations as well as details of the free, onsite seminar programme.
Taking place, for the first time, on the 07 March 2013 at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton, GEO-North offers the complete exhibition experience that has made the GEO-Events so popular. The event is completely free to attend and benefits to pre-registered visitors include free parking, refreshments including lunch and access to the onsite programme of informative, inspirational and stimulating seminars and debates. Online registration is already open at http://www.pvpubs.com/Events/Registration
Topics for the onsite seminar programme will include Building Information Management (BIM), the next generation of airborne sensors, education and training for GIS as well as geodata solutions for highways management. The day will kick off with a welcome and keynote from Bob McEwan, HP’s (Hewlett Packard) Presales Manager and Chief Technologist for UK and Ireland who will regale the audience with technological insights from the past, complete with props, and his own inimitable look into the future. Other speakers include Dr Ann Kemp, Technical Director at Atkins, Chris Little an experienced trainer and educator as well as Andrew Blogg, Director at Digital Mapping and Survey and Debbie Solomon, Training Manager. The day’s proceedings will come to a close with a panel discussion led by Robin Waters, Editor of GIS Professional and Director of RSW Geomatics followed by a free to attend drinks reception.
GEO-North has already attracted support from some of the best known names from the world of geomatics and GIS including the Association for Geographic Information (AGI), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), UNIGIS UK and GIS247. Commercial supporters include platinum sponsors Phoenix and M&P Survey plus GeoPlace, Cadline, C.SCOPE, GEO Survey, Handheld, Carlson Software, Speedy Services, Spheron, South Survey, Mobile GIS Services and Z+F Laser UK. Exhibition packages at GEO-North offer excellent value for money with prices starting from as little as GBP 295.
“GEO-North has already attracted support from some of the biggest and well known names in the industry although there are still a few opportunities left,” commented Stephen Booth of PV Publications, organisers of the event and publishers of Geomatics World, GIS Professional, Engineering Surveying Showcase and the newly launched Internet portal www.Location-Source.com. “We are also pleased to note that visitor registrations are high reinforcing our decision to offer two events in 2013 rather than one.”
The GEO events are designed for everyone involved in the capture and application of geospatial information for construction, civil engineering, development, local / national government agencies, professional survey practice and consultancy. Attracting exhibitors demonstrating the latest technology and developments in the fields of Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Satellite Positioning and Navigation systems (GNSS), laser scanning, data modelling and analysis and mapping together with leading trade organisations and academic institutions, the GEO events are a ‘must attend’. The year’s second GEO-event will be on 1&2 May at the Holiday Inn Elstree.
