January 28 2013, Philadelphia, PA – Keystone Aerial Surveys, Inc. is proud to announce that it has acquired a second LiDAR system, the Optech Gemini. Purchased in late December, this system has passed Keystone’s quality testing and is now ready for use on projects throughout the United States.
The addition of a second LiDAR sensor allows Keystone to provide highly accurate elevation data to clients near its growing Los Angeles office. There is great demand for LiDAR data in the southwestern United States and Keystone is responding to the need while still maintaining commitments to customers in the Northeast and throughout the United States. With the ability to position LiDAR sensors on each coast, Keystone can respond to any request with an economically and timely solution.
The Optech Gemini is a Multipluse LiDAR that is ideal for large area and higher altitude mapping. With a variable laser rate of 33 to 167 kHz and accuracies from 5 cm, the Gemini is both flexible and accurate. The Applanix GPS/IMU hardware and software, along with Keystone’s years of processing knowledge provide solid airborne GPS and angular data.
