The National Geodetic Survey (NGS) welcomes real-time GNSS vendors, RTN operators, managers and users to Memphis, Tennessee on May 28-29, 2013 to examine how local GNSS augmentations interact with each other, with NGS, with the National Spatial Reference System (NSRS) and with users, vendors and operators.
There are currently more than 100 GNSS Real Time Networks (RTNs) operating in the United States. These RTNs provide a valuable service and include a variety of operational formats, procedures and techniques. Situated between the Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) and the local practitioner, RTNs offer significant cost-effective positioning for a wide variety of users. Due to their cost-saving potential, they are becoming the primary control basis for many local projects and applications.
The Real Time GNSS Network Symposium will include invited and contributed presentations from federal and state agencies, RTN operators and RTN users. However, the emphasis will be on panel and interactive discussions among attendees and representatives from NGS.

National Symposium for Real Time GNSS Networks
There are currently over 100 GNSS Real Time Networks (RTN) operating in the United States. These RTN provide a valuable service and include a variety of operational formats, procedures and techniques. Sitting between the CORS and the local practitioner, they offer significant cost effective positioning for a wide variety of users. Because of this, they are becoming the primary control basis for local projects and applications. The National Geodetic Survey (NGS) is inviting representatives from these networks to a two-day symposium to discuss various issues of mutual concern.
The Symposium will include invited and contributed short presentations from federal agencies, RTN operators, and RTN users, followed by panel discussions. Please see the following draft agenda for some possible discussion topics:
