Bridgeport, Del. (November 19, 2012) – The National Punkin Chunkin contest takes its distance measurements seriously, using RTK correction data to provide extreme accuracy at the annual event. Intuicom, Inc., a leading provider of wireless data solutions for the survey, precision agriculture, and machine control markets, provided the key communications link for these measurements through their RTK Bridge™ product.
The National Punkin Chunkin is an annual charity event held outside of Bridgeport, Delaware where teams compete to see who can hurl a pumpkin the farthest using a variety of homemade contrivances.
With 115 competing teams using air cannons, catapults, centrifugal, human-powered and torsion machines, the Intuicom RTK Bridge was kept busy obtaining RTK corrections to provide measurements accurate to within an inch. Top honors this year was a distance of 3,887.92 feet.
This is the second consecutive year Intuicom has donated use of their pioneering RTK Bridge product to help with official distance measurements.
