The GSDM Accommodates Both Spatial Data Generators and Spatial Data Users

Fulfilling a prediction: According to Noble Laureate Peter Medawar. . .

As science matures, an overarching concept will simplify complex issues.

The important concept is that the 3D global spatial data model (GSDM) conveniently serves two distinct categories of spatial data users – those who generate spatial data and those who use spatial data. Although often conveniently ignored, the  GSDM concept has not been shown to be defective or deficient. On the contrary, evidence of benefits that can be realized by using the GSDM continues to accumulate. The following item was posted on LinkedIn, April 30, 2025.

An excellent book, “3D Imaging of the Environment: Mapping and Monitoring,” Edited by John Meneely was published by CRC Press (2024). The book identifies an important opportunity for the global spatial data model (GSDM) to serve both spatial data generators (science & measurements) and spatial data users (GIS and others).
