Allowing new levels of freedom and accuracy in a compact, light, versatile package, the Carlson RTk5 is an all-in-one solution for land surveyors, engineers, GIS professionals, and anyone else in need of advanced GNSS positioning with an RTK rover. The RTk5 also utilizes Carson’s newly-released RTK engine, Gama, which helps the RTk5 deliver exceptional performance under challenging conditions.

Beyond traditional on-pole use, the RTk5 is capable of handheld use with an included compact helix antenna for fast GIS-type work. In addition to the tablet and compact GNSS antenna, the RTk5 comes with a strong, light, purpose-built pole with integrated antenna cable, a high-accuracy GNSS antenna, a custom cradle, and a long-range bluetooth antenna. The GNSS capabilities of the RTk5 represent major steps forward, and have undergone extensive testing under a wide selection of extreme trial scenarios, including under thick tree canopies, urban and suburban environments, close proximity to buildings and walls, and more.
The RT5 and RTk5 ship with Carlson’s industry-leading and recently-released SurvPC 7 field software, a versatile and extremely powerful program with features such as SurvNET least squares corrections in the field, advanced GNSS averaging features, and much more. SurvPC 7 boasts a familiar layout, a wide selection of additional modules such as Esri ArcGIS integration, Hybrid+ for simultaneous GNSS and robotic total station surveying, BIM model manipulation and layout, and advanced roading (including tunnels), and a large driver library supporting a wide variety of hardware.
Both the RT5 and RTk5 feature wide, 8” daylight-viewable capacitive touch screens with stylus compatibility for wet conditions, fast Intel® Pentium Silver processors, long-range bluetooth (tested to 1,500’/450m), 4G LTE, high-capacity hot swappable battery for all-day performance (10 hours), and an optional high capacity battery for even longer runtimes (15+ hours).
