The firm is working with Roll & Associates and Ferguson Construction Co. to renovate multiple aspects of The Salvation Army location.
Dayton, Ohio (July 16, 2019) — Woolpert was contracted to provide structural engineering services in support of the expansion of the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, which began construction this spring.
The renovation of The Salvation Army location north of Dayton, Ohio, will include a new outdoor recreation facility, a soccer field and stands, a splash park and gazebo, a warehouse and concessions building, eight pickleball courts and a 56-foot-high sign tower. The tower, which will be visible from Interstate 75, has a trapezoidal base and will include two video display boards.
These projects are being completed in stages, with the final pieces scheduled to be finished this fall. The architect on the project is Roll & Associates Inc., and Ferguson Construction Co. is the contractor.
The North Dayton site is one of 26 Kroc Centers, which are strategically located across the country to serve the greatest number of people experiencing the greatest need. Most recently, the center has provided extensive resources and support to the community after multiple tornadoes hit the Dayton area May 27.
Woolpert Facilities Project Manager Frank Monastra said he was honored to support the Dayton Kroc Center and its significant, long-standing work to support the community.
“The Kroc Center and The Salvation Army have a long history of providing food, shelter and assistance for those most in need, from their red kettles at Christmas to the disaster relief we’ve seen this summer,” Monastra said. “It’s a privilege to support an organization that provides for Dayton as the Kroc Center does, and to do so alongside these other strong Dayton firms in Roll & Associates and Ferguson Construction.”
